SASHA BARDELAS BERDEGUER, ESQ., a South Florida criminal defense attorney, was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Sasha attended the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, a major in criminology and a dual minor in sociology and history in 2002. She was very active at the University as a member of Phi Eta Sigma, National Honor Society, Golden Key National Honor Society, Pre-Legal Honor Society and the Criminology and Law Honor Society. Besides being a member she was on the Boards of many of the honor societies. In her last semester she was selected to be an Alachua County Courthouse intern in the spring of 2002 there she was assigned to assist the Child Support Division and the Records Division. It was there her passion for the law and the courtroom came alive.

After graduating early, Sasha worked as a legal intern in a downtown Miami firm with a focus on complex commercial litigation and as a pro bono legal intern for the Honorable Michael B. Chavies, Circuit Court Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit, before attending law school.

Sasha then attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While in law school she was given the Silver Award from the Pro Bono Honor Program for her dedication to serving the community. She was a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association where she served as the Events Coordinator and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Further her passion for community work, Sasha was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Guardian Ad Litem, and went to local middle schools to teach children the importance of the law as a Street Law Student Teacher under the direction of Broward County Court Judge Robert Diaz. She was nominated for and received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2005.

While in law school, Sasha interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, which later turned into full-time employment upon her graduation.

While at the State Attorney's office, Sasha handled cases ranging from DUIs and misdemeanor crimes to felony cases — including but not limited to cases of burglary, kidnapping, child abuse, felony battery/assault, robbery, drug trafficking, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child, weapons cases, sexual battery and homicides. Sasha was nominated by her colleagues at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office to the position of County Training Attorney and later selected to the position of Assistant Chief of Crimes, County Court Division.

During her tenure as an Assistant Chief of Crimes, County Court Division, Sasha was executively assigned by Governor Jeb Bush to prosecute cases outside Miami Dade County, including but not limited to Broward and Monroe Counties. She was specially assigned cases involving local celebrities or complex legal issues. Outside of the courtroom, she helped train newly appointed Assistant State Attorney’s in an 8 week intensive program and helped draft the accompanying training manual.

Sasha's trial and motion experience has offered her a wealth of insight, training and exposure to Criminal Law. Thanks to her time as a prosecutor, Sasha’s practice as a Miami criminal defense attorney has benefited from numerous training sessions and experts who helped her understand the complexities of how the law truly operates.

In court, Sasha has proven to be creative, intuitive and aggressive in her victories as a Miami-Dade criminal defense lawyer. Having tried numerous cases and countless motions, Sasha has shown that she can win inside the courtroom.
